Men's Walking Group
Seven of us went to Bright Angel Park on a beautiful clear, warm day.
Dennis is off to the mainland this week so this is the second string, posting the Blog.
The little square is what we actually walked. They are trails in the Bright Angel Park The dangly part is what we drove by car to get to the Fairbridge Farm School. This Farm School took in orphaned children after World War II. For coffee we went to Tim Hortons on Bench Road.

The Suspension Bridge is closed for repairs - no going to the other side! |
Time to check out the situation. This project needs supervision I think. |
This stairway looks strange. Some supervision definitely needed here. |
There is lots of wood debris in the Koksalah River. Looks as if it has been there for years. |
A Trillium at the end of it's bloom. |
Dandelions! One Wannabe and 22 has beens. |
Time for an exercise break. |
Some one is going to need to help me as to what these are called. |
A very nice patch of Vanilla plants, I think. |
We now are at the Prince of Wales Fairbridge Farm School. Go on the internet or click this link http://fairbridgechapel.ca/ and do a search. Find out the fascinating history of this world wide project to place orphaned British children in homes after giving them training and skills to work on farms, mostly. After getting the story, you decide - was this a worthy project or was this a way to get cheap labour or worse. |

The sign has the names of boys and girls that came here. |
