It was a wet and foggy day for the 5 of us to trek a slow 3Km from Tim Hortons down to the Mill Bay Marina and back.  Stopped on the way for a look at the interior décor of the new Mill Bay Sushi restaurant that just opened Jan 28, 2018 at the Mill Bay Shopping Centre.

A short 3Km walk in the increasingly heavy rain.

Sorry, no photo's of the rain?

The weather held pretty good for the 7 of us to trek 10Km from the Legion to, and through the Shawnigan School grounds today.  A few rain drops and a bit of sunshine as well.  Our luck is still with us.  Below is the map and a few photos.  --  DeNNis.

Started at the Legion (right) and avoided the main road as much as possible.  A circle of the Shawnigan School grounds and retraced our route back stopping for coffee on the way.

Down past the Museum to the E&N Rail tracks.

Along the tracks to Masons Beach and then onto some of the small streets
behind Masons Store.

The lake is still pretty high.

Still in the Christmas mode here.

This cat is not hanging around with all these guys heading this way.

Nice little bridge.

The trail was a little wet in places.

We need space to spread out while we have coffee. This beautiful table is a single piece of Fir with live edges.

We had a clear day for the 11 of us to trek the 6Km around Kingzett Lake (AKA the Quarry).   Coffee was enjoyed at the Schoolhouse Coffee Shop in Cobble Hill.

Parked on Thain Road and walked in to the Lake

Supposed to rain.  A bit of a sprinkle but luck was with us again.  Good start for a New Year.  Not a great day for taking photos but here are the few I got for our first 2018 walk.

Parked on Deloume Rd behind Tim Hortons (top left).  Down across the Highway, through Mill Bay Center, and the clockwise loop as shown.

As stated, a slight drizzle, but not bad for a rainy forecast.

You can still make out our shadows on the pavement.

Spotted on Partridge Rd.  A 1962 Ford Thunderbird.

Starting down the path from Partridge Rd to Seaview Rd.

Looking down towards the water on Bay Rd. Socked in a bit.

This lot --

Frayne Roads have been cleared for new construction.

This tree is ready to drop its pods for spring planting.

This sign was spotted on the ground alongside the perimeter
path of Mill Springs.
