Womens Walking

The walking group did 7.60 K on the trails behind the Legion and down to the
Peerless Alpaca/Llama Farm.There we met Mr. Woo the llama who guards
the rest of the flock.We came back to the Legion to warm up and have soup
and a sandwich.Next monday Dec 5th. we will be at the Kinsol Trestle.
Meet at the Legion at 10am.

Womens Walking

Seven walkers did the Bob-O-Link Trail and other areas where we keep
ending up at new home sites.We were able to blaze a trail to bypass houses
to reach a road.Back to the Legion for coffee where we joined a new walker.
Welcome to the ladies walking group,Shirley.Sorry we didn't connect this
week.See you when you return from vancouver.We meet at the Legion
parking lot on mondays, leaving for our walk at 10am.Next monday Nov 28th.
we begin at the Legion and walk to the llamas.We will have lunch at the Legion
when we return.   V.M.

Men's walking group

Well that was some kind of weather today but we did get our 7 km walk in.and our lunch was good, so it wasn't all lost.We did get our seniors discount too. Next week we plan on doing the Kinsol tresol I hear we can now walk the path down to the river side. Tks C.U.

Computer/Photography grp.

This coming Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 10 am we will talk about computers. Helen will come with some specific questions, maybe we can help her.
I would like to dig into the many places in the Control Panel and see whether our individual computers can be made to run more efficiently or faster. Come with questions and describe problems you have had recently. There always are problems aren't there?

Men's Walking Group

We explored the Silver Mine Trail that is located behind the newish development when you drive on Ingot Road off Thain.
What is new is that the CVRD has made a connection to this trail from Shawnigan Beach Estates which can be reached by going to the end of Gregory Street.

Womens Walking

Nine walkers enjoyed the sunshine and some great views on Stebbings road.
Not many new homes but plenty of lots for sale,sized from 6 acres to 27 acres.
Most spectacular views from a new subdivision named Goldstream Ridge.
The driveways are in but no houses have been built yet.We did 5.18 K but
most of it was up l--o--n--g steep hills.Back for coffee at the Legion.
Next monday the 21st. we will be at the Kinsol Trestle to note any changes
around the trestle or to the landscaping.We walk different distances and at a
different pace,so anyone is able to join us.All are welcome.
Meet at the Legion at 10 am.     V.M.

What a great day for our walk in the woods. Thanks Ed, There were 9 of us and we did 7 kms, not to much up hill that's good eh Dave. Tks for driving Deiter % Ed. Next wk we will hike from the Legion to Shawnigan Lake School and have lunch in Shawnigan Village at the Chippery restaurant getting back to the Legion by 2pm.C.U.

Computer/Photography Grp.

Our next meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 15 will focus on Photography. We will continue with our Theme challenges which for this meeting is "Parallel Lines". Bring in a few pictures that show parallel lines or whatever your interpretation of parallel might be. If the pictures are current(within a month or two, great) older pictures will do also.

Womens Walking

Nine walked 5 K in the St Johns Church area and the Eco Depot.We returned
to the cemetery to see the many white crosses with red poppies to honour the
veterans. It was interesting reading the names,dates,and battlefields.
Next monday the 14th we will walk Stebbings Road.Leaving the Legion
at 10 am.   V.M.

Well we got our walk in without getting rained on, Tks Dave. and we had a good number of walkers 11 I think.and we walked 11 kms or 6.3 miles, ha
next wk we plan on walking the old silver mine trail. meet at the Legion at 8:30 Tks C.U.

Hi Gang
I just realized I didn't put a report of our last walk, so here it goes.
It was good. That's it!!!!!!!ha Didn't see much in the way of Halloween but the weather was with us, and we did see the new wharf going in at Mill Bay, Next week we will decide Monday morning on our walk, We do plan for the 21 Nov a walk through Shawnigan school and have lunch at the Chippery in Shawnigan . Womens Walking

A perfect day for a walk along the Cowichan Bay Estuary.Some beautiful fall
colours.We began at Maple Grove Park and did 6.5 Ks.Then went on to Cow
Bay Cafe for lunch where we saw some interesting carved pumpkins for Halloween.
Next monday Nov 7th.we will walk Stebbings road.Let us hope we don't see
what we saw last time we walked there. See you at the Legion at 10am.  V.M.
