Six walked the Cowichan Trail in Duncan. We noticed Bing Creek was almost dry. It was interesting to see that soil erosion control is being done, as cuttings of Willow and Dogwood are placed along the banks and will turn into a living wall to support the eroded river banks and improve the fish habitat. We tasted Thimble berries and Saskatoon berries along the trail. We had planned for a Mongolian lunch, but it was closed and a suggestion by Joan was the new market. Some of us had not shopped there so had our lunch at the market at Crossroads Center. The food was good and reasonably priced. The market and the Deli were also interesting. Thank you to the drivers. Next monday the 6th. our walk may be to Stocking Creek. Meet at the Legion at 9:30 am.
