Thirteen of us got together today and did about a 6 Km walk to the Quarry via Ingot Road. A sprinkle on the way up to the Legion but no rain and it actually got quite warm. Map and photos below. -- DeNNis.
Of course we first had to see what was happening with the logging operation at the Legion. |
Starting up Silvermine Rd we came across this unique green house design. |
Spotted a big cat on Ingot Rd. |
Not a great photo but someone suggested it would make a good "Black and White" shot. |
Off the streets through John C's daughters yard and onto the path to the Quarry. |
An old wheelbarrow amongst the daisies. |
We know we are on the right track. |
Across a wooden foot bridge -- |
-- and another one -- |
-- This one is quite unique. |
More daisies along some pleasant pathways |
And we arrive at the Quarry. (Looking left) |
(Straight across) |
(Looking Right) |
There is some speculation that someone is skinny dipping across the way-- |
The "Zoom" proves it is NOT true. |
Passed on the Bamberton-Haul Road -- some graffiti has an element of artistry. |
Some comments on aging and squeezing through tight spaces. |
We always enjoy our coffee and whatever after the hike. |
