Men's Walking Group

Thirteen of us got together today and did about a 6 Km walk to the Quarry via Ingot Road.   A sprinkle on the way up to the Legion but no rain and it actually got quite warm.  Map and photos below.  --  DeNNis.

Parked the cars near the entrance to Burnham Park (right) and did a clockwise loop via Silvermine Rd, Coleman Rd and Ingot Rd.  Then down various trails to the Quarry  --  finishing with a well deserved beverage at Shawnigan Coffee House where we were joined by Jim Becker.

Of course we first had to see what was happening with the
 logging operation at the Legion.

Starting up Silvermine Rd we came across this unique green
house design.
Spotted a big cat
on Ingot Rd.

Not a great photo but someone suggested it would make a good
"Black and White" shot.

Off the streets through John C's daughters yard and onto the
path to the Quarry.

An old wheelbarrow amongst the daisies.

We know we are on the right track.

Across a wooden foot bridge --

-- and another one --

-- This one is quite unique.

More daisies along some pleasant pathways

And we arrive at the Quarry.  (Looking left)

(Straight across)

(Looking Right)

There is some speculation that someone is skinny dipping across the way--

The "Zoom" proves it is NOT true.

Passed on the Bamberton-Haul Road --  some graffiti has an
element of artistry.

Some comments on aging and squeezing through tight spaces.

We always enjoy our coffee and whatever after the hike.
