Men's Walking Group

Another interesting 6Km rural walk for the 9 of us followed by coffee at the Shawnigan House.  -- Brook

A short jaunt today on Briarwood Drive and part of Mill Springs area.   Below is a sampling of what we saw along the way.  Weather and company were very pleasant.  --  DeNNis.

Parked just off of Shawnigan-Mill Bay Rd on Briarwood Dr (top left).  Follow the trace in a counter-clockwise loop.
Good tree for either a "fungi artist" or
for the woodpeckers.

A nice little park area beside Hollings Creek.

Lots of ferns growing on the bank of the creek.

A few pine trees in the area.  Not a common sight around here.

A very nice landscaping idea along the fence.

One lonely rose left on this bush.

Looks like we just came out of an "evergreen tunnel."

Much photographed house in Mill Springs.

Many wild flowers - including daisies -

- ?? -

 - foxglove (digitalis purpurea) -

and California poppies.

Of course we HAD to park at the top of the hill!!
