Men's Walking Group

This is my version of our Mill Springs adventure today.  It didn't rain and the company and coffee were great.  I hope the map and photos work okay.  --  DeNNis.

Parked on Deloume Rd above Tim Hortons ("TH").  The map below gives a better idea of our direction of travel.

Follow the Red arrows as best you can on the Yellow Brick Road.

The Gazebo in Mill Springs.

Nifty pruning.

Always more new buildings in Mill Springs.

Wheelbarrows are out - now they just spray the sand in through a pipe.

The view from the outer edge at Mill Springs.

A little "Leaf Mosaic".

Mother Natures work is never done.

Water well  drilling for another small development.

Well we did it!. We made it to the top of old Mt Baldy as the pictures prove it. Thanks DeNNis for the pictures and excellent comments. We had an interesting jaunt up the Mt. We found a new trail in fact so new we had to have a second look at it as we made our way back to its start and the main trail to the top. We had a few laughs about it over coffee at the Subway coffee shop. Good turnout today 13 including our new walker. Welcome to our club Rick and welcome to Mt Baldy. Believe me most of our walks are much more on a level plain.See you next week.By the way we did 5+ k. Next week a local walk. We are planing a walk in Naniamo {Westwood lake} with lunch out on 30th Nov. See you all next week. Tks.

Enjoyed our little stroll up Mt Baldy today.  As usual, the weather and company were excellent. Here is my map and my take on the walk.   ---   DeNNis.

Map is self explanatory.  Parked at the gate (top right). Planned on going up via the Cell Tower but missed the trail.  The thinner solid brown traces are from previous hikes. Hope you can figure it out.
The "Hares." -way ahead.
The "Tortoises." -way behind.

Which way? - Right.- No, straight ahead. - Yes! - No! - Maybe???

Bush whacking!!!

These large Arbutus  trees tell us we are there!

Hi Well that was a good walk today 11 of us did 9k. Thanks for the pictures and your comments DeNNis. You seem to find things for your pictures that I didn't see on our walk. Good work. For next week the weather at this point looks like it will be suitable to do Mt Baldy {backwards on the top portion}. We will definately take it easy on the way up for us young people and if the weather does'nt turn out we will do a local walk and save Mt Baldy for a nice day.Okay?. Tks

A few pics from todays walk to the Quarry via Silvermine Trail.  Weather was great, including some sunshine (of course) and good company.  --  DeNNis

Parked near entrance to Burnham Park, then Thain to Silvermine Rd, to Coleman Rd and along Silvermine trail - then down Miner Rd and more bush trails and a few bridges, heading to the Quarry --  returning to the cars via the Bamberton Haul Rd. (Google Earth map mistakenly shows it as Northgate)

One of several bridges.

Heading up the down staircase.

One more river(?) to cross.

Hallowe'en remnants.

And another!

"I wanna be your Teddy Bear!

Which way now??

Looking down on the Quarry from the gravel pit above.
