Our walk on Tzouhalem mountain was quite interesting as we missed the direct
route to the bluffs,so were able to explore a different area and other trails. The
weather was great, the views,Garry oaks and wildflowers were spectacular.
We also met a Husky dog wearing a boot.
Next monday the 10th.we will be at the West Shawnigan Provincial Park.
Leaving the Legion at 9:30 a.m. V.M.

Men's Walking
I want to add my $.02 to Denis's comments and it was such a beautiful clear day, I just couldn't stop taking pictures.
That steep grade sure is a lot easier if the car is doing the work.

Today after checking a new road and checking with the loggers we found our way to the top of Mt Prevost and the war memorial, also done some looking around at the top and seen where they para sail from , The view was outstanding , we drove most of the way and only had to walk a little but step it was!! The road was not too bad but wet and muddy as depicted by the two vehickles that we went in. tks Bill & Ed. Next week we will do a local walk, but on 17th we will do our annual bike ride in Victoria, okay? C.U. Tks

Our last walk was around Spectacle Lake which is named after the two small islands
in the lake which resemble eye glasses. We walked through the mobile home park and
by the fire hall. Nearby was a metal building used for practise in firefighting in all types
of buildings to show the intensity of the heat. The vehicles are for practise in using the
jaws of life to remove accident victims.........See pictures below. The Malahat fire
department will be participating in an Island competition for firefighters soon.
Monday the 19th. We will be leaving the Legion at 10a.m. for Burnt Bridge. V.M.
