Womens Walking

Both the Echo Heights and Hermits Trail were quite interesting and places we
may return to early in May. Wild flowers will be in bloom then. The hermits name
was Charlie Abbott. He worked on the property from the early 1970's till he
passed away in 1989.All the work was done by hand. Unfortunately the land
that the trails are on is now up for sale.We then went on to the Harborside
Cafe for lunch.Many thanks for driving us all,Claudia.Particularly for the scenic
tour,a lovely country drive over the back roads. Next monday April 4th. we
meet at the Legion at 10am.to choose our walk.   V.M.

Spring clean up

I would like to thank all 7 people for coming out, it was a lot of work but the place looks great & and our room nice and clean for our activities for the rest of the year,you can be proud of your selves, Thanks a lot.

Thanks for the pictures Ed , the water is just like a mirror on the lake.
We had some dissuasion on how many kilometers it is around the lake , but we did about 5 k except for the two Dennis's did an extra k good walk. Tks to Ed & Dave for driving, Next week we will find another local walk in the sun!!!! Tks C U

A good walk to the Mill Bay ferryWe saw various types of ducks and some
workers on a barge at the ferry dock.Back to the Legion for coffee.
Next monday the 28th. we will go to Chemainus and do the Hermits Trail
and the Echo Heights Trail.Then on to the Harborside Cafe for lunch. Meet
at the Legion at 10am.        V.M.

We did down town along the water front today, we were going to hike Yellow point trail but we did'nt want to get our boots all muddy , what wimps!!!!! Anyway we enjoyed it and seen the Bastion and other interesting things, Then off to the Krow & Gate for a great lunch, its always good there. tks for driving Dennis and Denis . Next week we'll meet regular time at the Legion 8.30 . local walk.

Hello All,

This is a reminder about our upcoming meetings schedule.

The next 2 meetings have been cancelled.

On March 22, 2011 I will not be able to attend and we decided to take a break( just like the schools).

On March 29, 2011 our meeting room will not be available due to YSAG Spring Cleaning. I'm sure any help for that is appreciated. If you can help with the cleaning come to the Legion.

So, our next meeting will be on April 5, 2011 with emphasis on Photography. It is Spring and there a lot of birds around. Here is a challenge. Go out in the great weather and see how many birds you can capture on your camera. Bring those images to the meeting.

April 12,2011 will be devoted to Computers. An agenda will follow.

Womens Walking

We had a nice and WET walk monday.Thanks to Joan for finding a new trail
along Wilmot road.It had a good gravel surface particularly for wet weather.
We saw many swans in the fields, but we were in a downpour so the cameras
didn't come out.Next week we will be on Mill Bay road and walk to the ferry.
Meet at the Legion at 10 am.      V.M.

We got a little rain on our walk up silver mine rd, but nothing to worry about,We did [ it feels like 7 & 1/2 to 8 kilomiters according to Bill} actually 7 kms, good trail Ed tks, And tks to Dave, Larry & Ken for driving. Next week we go hike the Yellow point trail having lunch at the Krow & Gate so we should be back to the legion by 2 pm.Tks

We had a great walk last monday,almost 5 K's and perfect weather.We then
went on to the Cobblestone Pub for our lunch. Next monday the 14th. we
will walk in the Cowichan Bay area. Meet at the Legion at 10am.     V.M.

Hi, We lucked out with the weather today. nice views from top of Cobble Hill Mountain.and a good group of 10 walkers. Just a touch of snow on top, good walk. next week a local walk. C. U.
