YSAG Computer/Photography Grp

Hello YSAG Photographers,
For next Tuesday's meeting on Photography we will go to school. The topic of our Class session will be: 'Colour Perception'. The source of this session comes from Cambridge in Colour which is a Website with some excellent tutorials. We will follow this: http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/tutorials/color-perception.htm Check it out if you have the time.
We will of course also look at pictures that you have taken recently and want to share with the group. I listened to a presentation about Lightroom and am more convinced then ever that it just does so much more then the free programs like Picasa can offer that it worth paying out some money to get it.
Any questions about our blog or anything concerning photography - bring it on!
Meeting time Tuesday, February 26 at 10:30 am.
Here are 2 pictures I took on Saturday.

Thanks to Wendy's invitation, 12 walkers visited the Peerless
Alpaca Farm.We learned alpacas are sheared in May each
year. The llamas are sheared only at the midriff. The wool is
then sent to a mill.Contrary to belief, llamas do not spit at
people.Llamas are also used for pet therapy. With seats
removed from a van,the llamas will enter by the side doors
and sit on the floor for the ride to the different nursing homes.
Next monday the 18th.we will walk to the Mill Bay ferry.
Leaving the Legion at 10am.    V.M.

Shawnigan Lake in January
Hello All YSAG Photographers,
The partial agenda for the photography group meeting on February12 at 10:30am will include details on how four CVCC judges chose 10 pictures out of 32 that were submitted to go to the North Shore Photography Challenge.
This competition is organized by the North Shore Photography Society. Camera clubs in the province are invited to submit 10 of their best pictures. This is a high level competition and the quality of pictures in past years has been very high.
We will of course include time for any topics or questions that you may have about photography.
Above is a picture that did not go to the NSPS competition.

alpacas and three llamas live. Wendy also lives there and will answer our
questions and let us see the animals up close. Suggestions for walks are
always welcome. Meet at the Legion at 10am.    V.M.

We walked around local trails today including through our local cemetery and saw this beautiful carved bench. There is no plaque or carver information on it. Does anyone know the details of this work of art?
