Another cool, crisp morning with lots of sunshine to trek 6Km around Mill Spring Trails.  Great weather for another stroll to check out some of the construction in Mill Springs.  Map and photos below.  --  DeNNis.

We parked on Deloume Road behind Tim Hortons (top left corner) and took a Lilmac trail into Mill Springs from there in a counter-clockwise loop.  My GPS was slow to pick up the dotted line trail.

Lots of underbrush alongside the trails.

A few of these small footbridges.

One of Mother Natures planters - tree
growing out of a stump.

Hard to see here - but someone improvised a
bird feeder - propped up the branch and hung
a feed tray from it.

Out of the shade of the trees and into the warm sunshine.

This photo is familiar, but there is often something new here.

Construction zooming ahead on these houses in phase 15
of Mill Springs.

This house is huge - could hold several families.

Mother Nature playing with the puddles.

Looks like pussy willows - hard to get an uncluttered
photo of this bush.

The view from the trail alongside Mill Springs.

A unique tree.

A steep trail down from Mill Springs.

More nature frozen art.

Spring has sprung - the Robins have come!

Another very cool, brisk walk --  In the sunshine!  A beautiful day for an 8Km stroll from the Legion up to the Old Mill Park and back, ending with a coffee from the Shawnigan Coffee House.  Map and photos below.  --  DeNNis.

r
Started at the Legion, through Cairn Park, a clockwise route as shown through Recreation
Road trailer park, Old Mill Park and back to the Legion.

Mother Nature left some artwork in the form of iced over puddles.

What's this?  Fire hydrants "Not
in service"??  Saw 3 or 4 of these.

Cricket field on Elford Road.

Mt. Baldy in the distance.

The woodcarved stump on Recreation Road of the
Shawnigan Shaman.

Entrance to Old Mill Park.

Looking across the lake from Recreation Rd Trailer Park.

Panoramic view from the trailer park.

Many trees in bud.

Some ones creation in Old Mill Park.

Down the E&N tracks on the return leg.

A cool (about 0°C) but sunny morning for a pleasant 6Km walk through Manley and Satellite Parks.  Stopped for coffee on the way back at Shawnigan Coffee House.
Parked the cars at the entrance to Manley Park (right).  The map shows the rest of the walk.

This pond was flowing over the concrete and full force through
the pipe just last week.  It is obviously controlled from up stream.

Looking down towards the beach from near the start of the trail.

Stairway down to the beach.  Tide was in so we opted out.

Coming off the Manley Park trail onto Aros Road.

Clearwater Dairy Farm at junction of  Lefran and Clearwater Rd.

Somebody's bucket has got a hole in it.

Lots of Snowdrops in bloom.

Down the stairway at the end of Clearwater Road.

Enjoying the beach at the end of Clearwater Rd.  This tree
is balancing on the one limb.

Looking across the water to Salt Spring Island.  On the mountain at the south end is a large rock wall.  Does anyone know what this is about??  Photo is at 15X Zoom.

We had a sunny albeit windy day for a 7Km walk around Victoria's Upper Harbour.  Stopped to view the progress on the new Johnson street Bridge, not quite ready to open yet??  Lunch at the Fan Tan Cafe was joined by Denis & Harry.

Parked at Banfield Park and walked clockwise over the Selkirk Trestle around the Upper Harbour
